Position Overview
RCO Aerospace is growing, and we need a Plant Material Analyst to join our team. The Plant Material Analyst is the heartbeat of our production floor, ensuring that materials, parts, and assemblies move efficiently through the manufacturing process. You will be responsible for managing inventory, tracking material flow, and coordinating with suppliers, and purchasing, to eliminate bottlenecks ensuring our aerospace seating reaches the world's top airlines on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Support: Monitor production schedules to ensure all necessary materials are available at each work center.
- Logistics Coordination: Managing the movement of raw materials and finished components between departments or from external suppliers.
- Supplier Management: Following up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolving shortages.
- Inventory Control & Tracking Monitoring stock levels, organizing materials in the warehouse, and maintaining accurate inventory records using ERP systems to track material locations, quantities, and status in real-time.
- Workflow Coordination: Physically move or facilitate the movement of parts between departments to prevent downtime through complex part and assembly flows.
- Communication: Act as the liaison between the warehouse, production, and purchasing to report shortages or delays immediately.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve material discrepancies or logistics bottlenecks on the production floor.Finding alternative solutions to keep the line running.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of material movement and assist in cycle counting and inventory audits.Preparing reports on production progress, material shortages, and shipping discrepancies.
- Continuous Improvement: Support RCO Quality Policies and corporate-wide continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Logistics.
- Certification in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment (Aerospace preferred).
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with MS Office and exposure to ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
- Physical Ability: Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs safely.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working at a privately held corporation
- Experience in prototype and mixed volume manufacturing or production facilities.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software.
- Foundational knowledge in math, spreadsheet software (Excel) and inventory management principles.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles.
