Position Overview
RCO Aerospace is growing, and we are seeking two skilled Quality Engineers to help us achieve the next level of operational excellence. Quality Engineer is responsible for assisting in the development, maintenance, and monitoring of quality initiatives in our manufacturing systems. You will champion internal efforts to meet customer expectations by translating those requirements into rigorous internal standards and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- APQP & Launch: Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning activities and coordinate with the Strategic Group to optimize the transition from development to production.
- Quality Planning: Participate in APQP activities and support the transition from new product development to production.
- ERP Management: Utilize Epicor ERP to track quality metrics, manage documentation, and streamline manufacturing workflows.
- Risk Mitigation: Lead PFMEA to ensure functional specification requirements are fully met during process/design validation.
- Supplier Partnership: Coordinate and approve Supplier PPAP documentation; work with SQE representatives to create corrective action plans for process failures.
- Technical Support: Assist in the development of dimensional control strategies and the procurement of gages/instruments.
- Interface with manufacturing personnel to report drawing/process issues.
- Provide drawing change requests to Engineering as required.
- Prepare Quality Alerts and posts for manufacturing personnel to review.
- Technical Specifications: Read and interpret drawings, customer specifications, process manuals.
- Compliance: Perform work in accordance with AS9100, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001 standards.

- Perform internal and supplier audits as required.
- Must be able to review and provide disposition on non-conforming material.
- Writes Customer and Supplier concern notices
(CCN/SCN) and provides follow up to closure.
- Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations into purchased part or product quality issues during early launch phases
- Problem Solving: Lead cross functional teams using various problem solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why and fishbone diagrams.

- Lead these efforts to satisfactory closure and report results to senor management.
- Continuous Improvement: Support RCO Quality Policies and corporate-wide continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 2–5 years in a Tier 1 manufacturing environment.
- Software: Proficiency in Epicor ERP and MS Office.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of FMEA, GD&T, and APQP gate review processes.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with prototype and low volume automated assembly, complex mechanisms, metal/plastic forming, or injection molding.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working at a privately held corporation
- Experience in prototype and mixed volume manufacturing or production facilities.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles.
