Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Shipping & Receiving / Material Handling Specialist to join our operations team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility — from incoming shipments to outgoing deliveries. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks safely and efficiently.
- Prepare seats and other products for shipment by transferring from carts to pallets, securing with drills and bands, and boxing for delivery.
- Manage and prioritize HOT or time-sensitive shipments, including handling outgoing FedEx deliveries.
- Maintain and organize the material income lane by optimizing space and flow to maximize efficiency.
- Support Outside Service (O.S.S.) operations by pulling, staging, and preparing materials and check fixtures for processing.
- Assist the receiving team with dispersing inventory to proper departments and storage locations within the facility.
- Oversee and update parts movement in Parts Tracker to ensure expedited processing of priority materials.
- Operate forklifts to transport materials, clean and organize work areas, and store pallets and knockdown bins appropriately.
- Utilize Epicor ERP and Microsoft Excel to track inventory, shipments, and material flow.
- Adhere to all safety and quality procedures while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Forklift operation experience (certification preferred).
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Epicor ERP or similar systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production facility.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software (e.g., FedEx, UPS).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles.
