Role Overview
RCO is seeking a process-oriented Corporate Buyer to lead the sourcing, negotiation, and management of supplier relationships. This senior-to-mid-level role is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services essential to our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have over a decade of experience, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement in supplier development.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Source, evaluate, and select suppliers that align with company quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Negotiations: Lead price, terms, and contract negotiations to achieve maximum value for the organization.
- Systems Management: Utilize Epicor ERP to manage procurement processes, optimize inventory levels, and maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier agreements.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure all materials meet technical specifications.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with industry regulations, including ITAR, AS9100, ISO standards, and customer-specific requirements.
- NPI Support: Secure materials and suppliers aligned with New Product Introduction (NPI) project timelines.
- Financial Oversight: Analyze cost structures, identify reduction opportunities, and collaborate with finance to manage cost-saving initiatives and payment terms.
- Operational Excellence: Manage purchase agreements, resolve incorrect shipments with suppliers, and support RCO Quality Policies and corporate continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Direct experience using Epicor ERP for procurement and inventory management is required.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Industry Expertise: Background in Automotive, Aerospace, or Prototype purchasing is highly preferred.
- Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of ITAR and AS9100 standards.
- Professional Attributes: Demonstrated integrity, high attention to detail, and a process-oriented mindset.
