Position: Time Labor Vehicle Tear Down and Build Technician
Location: GM Warren Tech Center.
Hours: 6am to 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday
Travel: none.
Number of openings: 1 due to backfilling a direct hire conversion.
Hiring Process: 2 step. 30 minutes MS Teams with an onsite interview with a tour of the facility. Applications must include 4 ASE Certifications.
Timing to hire:
Immediate. November17th.
Pre-employment physical required and driving record verification.
Purpose:
We are looking for an addition to our team who can work on every part of the vehicle-
This role will time the process to take apart and put the vehicle back together and of course optimize the process as they go through the cars.
Business group: This group is responsible for validating the service manuals, service procedures, and validating repair procedures so service can be performed how the instructions are written. The goal is to time and optimize the procedures. This group sees all need vehicles for all of GM service manuals. The Technician follows a tracker of all of the different procedures, take the car part and put it together.
Motivator for this position – backfill for a few people who have gone direct also want to prepare for more work next year.
Interaction level with the team:
The team is 9 Technicians. This is more of a heads down position. Depending on the project they could be working with other technicians. There is interaction with the mechanical service development engineers (authors of the service manual) they are onsite at the facility, service integration engineers.
Day in the Life:
Start the day checking email first thing in the morning to check in on issues.
Technicians will come up with video clips (!6 per quarter) of better ways to do something or notes/pictures to help the technicians.
