Position:  Battery Cell Maintenance Technician

Location:  GM Warren Tech Center.

Hours:  6am to 2 pm or 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday with an opportunity for some overtime around holidays.

Travel:  none.

Number of openings: 1 due to backfilling a direct hire conversion.

Hiring Process:  30 minutes onsite.

Timing to hire: Face to face onsite through the week of October 27^th – hiring November10th or 17th,

Pre-employment physical required.

Purpose:

We are looking for a highly motivated Product Development Engineer having experience with semi-conductors and electronic modules. Looking for someone that can deal with ambiguity and operate independently.

Business group: Engineering maintenance and technical support for all of the Program Manager’s on the equipment and the first line of support for any technical troubleshooting, planned and break-fix, it will be a mix of this depending on the day

Interaction level with the team – 14 people on the team, 3 of them are engineers, 11 are technicians, everyone has a primary area of support. There will be cross training where they can support multiple areas down the road.

The building houses cutting edge equipment and technology.  It is essentially a playground for engineers for testing technology, what they are doing is directly benefiting the customer, in the forefront of developing next gen battery technology, and gaining experience in a lot of different areas

Day in the Life:  The Battery Maintenance Technician will be supporting the equipment that is assembling the battery cells and testing them, environmental changers, manufacturing equipment that is doing the stacking and coding, diagnostic equipment

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • HS Diploma
• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years electrical or battery systems and troubleshooting. Prefer engine and transmission development work.
• Good with tools – power hand tools
• Computer skills – Outlook, Excel, IBM tools, SharePointe, Slack/Teams

• Process oriented and detail-driven, able to follow established procedures consistently
• Thrives in working in a structured environment
• High degree of emotional intelligence.
• Effective communication; written and verbal.Good records keeping.
