Overview:
The Instrumentation Technician will work in several teams where you will demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and learning abilities with a nominal amount of cross training. More experienced applicants will manage most project responsibilities rather than working on parts of a job and possess the ability to mentor other technicians. Instrumentation & Emissions (I&E) technicians can expect to work in various areas of the lab. This typically involves troubleshooting test cell systems and equipment, calibrating instrumentation, and performing preventative maintenance. The group seeks to minimize downtime to maximize efficiency while driving continuous improvement.
This group supports emission testing for GM. They own everything in the test cells for emissions, any data acquisition equipment, servicing, maintenance, repairing, testing inside the building. They do all emission testing for GM, globally, any type of vehicle that GM has. Approved for sale through their building. They will have the opportunity to see cars from the US and other places they might not normally see, new future technologies, EV range testing, test electric vehicles, see a lot of new things, business is ever changing and growing.
Motivator for this need – combination of backfilling positions and needing the help, they are expecting an increase in workload.
