Test Lab Maintenance Technician – GM, Pontiac, MI
Job Overview:
RCO has a client with an immediate opening for an experienced Test Lab Maintenance Technician to support their test lab facility located in Pontiac, MI. This hands-on position will be responsible for all equipment maintenance in their test cell facility including drive systems, fuel systems, dynamometers, pumps, heaters, heat exchangers, collecting motor vibration data, filter replacement, harness and wiring troubleshooting, PLCs etc.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in robotic repair, pneumatics, electrical and welding.
Purpose:
Purpose of this team – maintenance team for the test lab in Pontiac, a lot of troubleshooting diagnostic work replacing failed things in the test system, familiar with calibrated equipment but not actually doing the calibration. Take out the piece that needs calibration, put in a new one. Related to vehicle engine and emission testing, keep all the test systems working
A day in the life:
Working on the preventative maintenance team techs go to a test cell and do verifications for equipment. Check all the parts and things that needing calibration, remove the existing component and replace with a similar one. Calibration will involve the cell (hook up calibration master, run through the process) filter replacement, verification that systems are there and working as needed, do some pretest builds.
Interaction level with the team – team of 2-3 people, smaller team
Work environment – test lab, inside, climate controlled, will have to complete a safety training
Tasks Needed to Perform:
· Repair machines, equipment and building structures according to maintenance work orders.
Equipment from AVL - Puma, various suppliers
· Use power lockout procedure as specified.
· Troubleshooting installation and removal of calibrated equipment (RTD, Pressure Transducer, Flowmeter, Torque meter, etc.) for test operation
· Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on company machines and equipment.
· Repair machines and equipment as necessary.
· Participate in corporate maintenance projects as needed.
· Support compliance with RCO Quality Policies
· Support RCO continuous improvement initiative.
· Any other duties as assigned.
Employee Requirement:
· Experience with preventative maintenance programs and records is also required.
· Knowledge of industrial machine repair, industrial electrical, welding, plumbing, hydraulics and pneumatics.
· Understanding of Hydraulic & Pneumatic print reading.
